Origin is having a flash sale and Titanfall is on sale for $36 at the moment. Is the game worth it or should I wait for a deeper discount?

Depends. A lot of people claim to be burnt out on it. I, on the other hand, started playing it on release and I'm still having a ton of fun with it. There's plenty of maps and just enough variety in game-modes to keep it interesting (the new maps released today are really good). It's not over-saturated with useless weapons like CoD is, but it doesn't need to be.

100 hours in and I'm still having fun with it. It has it's quirks and matchmaking can be a lesson in frustration sometimes, but is has just enough variety that it stays interesting.

Wow, that seems to have deescalated quickly for a big multiplayer shooter. Don't they usually take a while to have crash sales?

I would not recommend it, but I mean if you wanna play a new shooter and have a bit of fun, then go for it.

I think it's because they asked way too much for the game and it ended up hitting them harder than if they had offered the game at say $40. For example, my friends bought the game using some exploit to buy it in Mexico for 60$ with the DLC or something, but I was too lazy to do this and thus they had one less person to play with. If instead, if I had bought the game for 40$ (along with a few more on the fence friends), I would have probably kept my friends playing in the game longer, meaning more potential for titanfall to make profit off of DLC and addons.

Either way, I'm glad I didn't buy it on release. Too many issues with mechanics was a main issue. I also won't lie that the pricing of the game with the DLC PAXZ ZzZXTREME+ turned me a bit off as well.

P.S. I still don't like the whole selling me DLC before the game is even out. I don't find it very fair to consumers and price drops prove this.

I bought it for about $37 from a Russian site off of a slick deals deal. I played quite a bit of it got to second generation and have not played it since. I still have it and there are still people to play with on pc. The retail price I think what kept others from buying it since its mp only. For that price I would say maybe. Sounds like if it's that much now you could probably get it cheaper a bit later.

if you played & liked UT / Quake, you'll like the movement speed

if you didn't, then TF becomes more hit & miss

It looks like the best FPS this year...and activision games pretty much never go on sale.

I picked it up and have been playing for about 2 hours so far - having a blast but I can see how this can wear off after a while. Love the fast paced combat and as another poster mentioned it does have a UT / Quake feel to it.

The game's over 2 months old now, I'd say this is about par for the course. 40% off is nothing spectacular. EA is decent enough to put their games on sale pretty regularly. Hell, you could get BF4 on Origin for $20 last Thanksgiving. That was literally only a month or two after it came out.

Activision is the one that's notorious for not doing good sales (if any at all).

I bought it for $45 but I only have 5 hrs invested in it. There no support for SLI, no mini map or HUD if you use Nvidia Surround or AMD EyEfinity and now they have removed capture the flag and pilot hunter game modes without any prior warning. Also the matchmaking can be an exercise in frustration, there is not a large selection of weapons and the weapons are nothing to get excited about. It's only 6v6 but there are a ton of drones in the game that are just cannon fodder and are dumb as rocks. It's fast and fun for a while but will wear thin quickly.

it depends on OP, The longer you hold out the less people there will be playing it (generally what happens with most games).

I find that if I only pay $5 for a game, I will more likly walk away from it if I start having issues with it.

It's actually $24 today if you use a proxy to buy it from a Mexico IP address, it's a 48 hour sale.

Right, whereas when I pay $60 for a game I HAVE to make it work lol

On the flip side, I could never get into any multiplayer for shooters before Titanfall. I would play shooters for the campaigns, I'd try multi, then never go back.

Titanfall works for me, though.

It would be best if they offered a demo or something. Watch some videos and see how you feel before pulling the trigger.

Yea the beta was what made me want to pick it up. If it wasn't for that then yea I would be weary.

Huh, that's the 1st time I've seen someone enjoy their 1st first person shooter and have that FPS be Titanfall.

Because it's very fast paced and makes new people feel like they aren't doing bad due to the bots. You dont have to go after all the pilots because you slaughter all the bots and find yourself killing pilots often as well. Its also easy to play with no prior experience and the titans help a lot.

Although I really wish they had included a pilot-only gamemode -- as I don't particularly enjoy the Titan combat -- I definitely think you'd get your money's worth with the game.

Definitely worth it, the game is fantastic.

Lasting appeal has to do with if you're the kind of person who likes to try and get really good at games or not; the depth and amount of stuff there is to learn in this game; IE the amount of stuff that separates someone who has played for 300 hours from someone who has played for 20-100 is gigantic.
