Have you tried turning vsync off? Titan Quest is a pretty demanding game, if your system can't handle a constant 60fps+ then vsync will drop your framerate, that's probly why it's capped at 40.

I honestly Can't play the game!

Pissed, yes

like it drops to 30 fps, USING FRAPS
and it pretty much stays there, i've yet to see it change from that

it just looks dame blurry.

and i patched it to 1.11
turn on triple buffering. NOTHING.

it just looks dame blurry, whenever i'm moving, like the ground with the grass textures and all that. which is why i would like 60 frames..

Problem still being,, 0AA/0AF gets me the same FPS as 6AA/16hqAF.. I dont see anything else that might explain my predicament. Do i need 2 gig ram or something? maybe i'll get that dual core now,, i'm just baffled

if changing between 0 and 6AA does nothing to framerate then you are likely bottlenecking on CPU/mem rather than video.

Faster CPU may help but dual-core will not really add anything.

Titan quest isn't SMP aware. I'm running a dual core when playing and I typically set the affinity of Winamp to run on my 2nd core then bump up process priority on titan quest. It lets me play TQ and listen to streaming media at the same time with no performance hit.

- Fixed crash issues involving teleporting
- Fixed pathing crashes involved with entering and leaving underground areas
- Fixed crashes involving the Alt-Tab function
- Fixed crash issue which could occur when standing at the same coordinates as an item and attempting to pick it up
- Fixed a bug where items would occasionally fall through the world when they are dropped or unsuccessfully picked up
- Fixed a bug where storing manual character back-ups in the SaveData folder would cause those characters to not be visible on the character select screen
- Improved character auto back-up system
- Implemented texture reduction matrix which allows the low graphics settings to use more compressed textures and improves performance on low end systems
- Implemented the ability to turn shadows on and off. Shadows are currently on by default.
-To turn shadows off, go to the My Games\Titan Quest\Settings directory and open the options.txt file after changing any option in game. Find the setting called "Shadows" and change its value to false. If the setting does not exist, add the line "shadows=false" to the end of the options.txt file.

- Fixed situation where players were not given credit for quest completion while leaving the game upon completing a quest
- Fixed Quest NPC issue where NPC's were not completing their animation cycles and awarding proper quest tokens to advance the quest. This is in reference to issues some players were having with some of the ship captains updating as well as Phaedrus in the Catacombs.

1. turn off shadows
2. turn off in game AA, hell this should be the first thing you do.
3. Use out of game AA from your video card settings

the in game AA is jacked and coded poorly, it makes the game unplayable; it will run much better and look just as good using the AA from your video cards control panel.
