Though it's NOT being made by Crate Entertainment (the original Titan Quest devs and devs of Grim Dawn) nor is it being made by THQ Nordic like the final TQ expansion. It's being made by the same people who made Spellforce 3 so we'll have to wait and see what they do.

As far as I can tell, looks like THQ Nordic is publishing the game, but yes its not being developed by Crate.

Played around a bit with TQ while looking for stuff to play in the backlog and while I can see myself getting into it at some point it has kinda a weird chonkly off-putting look to it, at least early on.

Is it the kind of Diablo-like that can be solo'd or am I going to be out of luck and slamming into a wall without other players half-way through?

Also have Grim Dawn (just the OG edition) in my library, and have heard nothing but good things.

I only ever played TQ solo so I can't comment on how it plays with other people but the original TQ is pretty laid back mainly because it lacks normal mobility skills like in D2. Grim Dawn is the same way in that it's primarily a single player ARPG but both games feature a multi-class system where you can mix and match whatever you want. I've been playing GD since it was in beta and I'm still making new characters to this day.

I'm keeping a healthy amount of skepticism for TQ2 since Crate have nothing to do with it.

Huge D1/D2 type games fan here. I liked TQ1 (solo) but to me it had zero replayability. It's major fault was there was no variability in the game track at all-if monsters jumped you at one point in the maze then it was absolutely certain you would be jumped at the same point the next time through that point even if on a "different" level.

But I will definitely check out TQ2 when it comes out.
