This is wierd!
I get an error when trying to update manually:

This Patch cannot be applied to this version of Titan Quest.
Patch requires version : v1.01
Current version is : v1.08

The thing is, 1.08 was the only other patch since release of the game 😕

v1.01 is the original unpatched version of the game.

Yes, but on 7/08/06, patch 1.08 was out (PatchStandalone101_to_108) Manually, it's not letting me update the game.

backup your chars (They're in my documents > my games > titan quest > data)

then uninstall the game, reinstall, then run the 1.01 > 1.11 patch

No need. There should never be a need to do what you suggested! That's back azz-wards
You can go into the game and let it update but what I'm saying is that you cannot manually download the update from 1.08 to 1.11 and run the exe. It simply won't let you.

The problem is that IGN has the file mislabeled. It says that it is a 1.08->1.11 patch, but the filename they have linked says 101_111, which matches with the error you got. You would need to find a standalone 108_111 patch file. If you look at the first comment, there is a link to FileShack that has the 108_111 patch executable.

the ingame patching works weird for me. i have to alt-tab out of it before it will do anything.

anyone else have the same issue?

For single play it is better than D2/LoD and by a significant margin (actually, I was playing D2/expansion before I bought TQ). I think the lukewarm reviews are the result of it inevitably being compared with the legendary status of D2. It is long in the tooth though. For multiplay, I would still stick with D2 though.

Cool thanks. I actually hated MP of D2/LoD, only because of the jackasses that ran around with hacks/cheats/etc and would kill you just to do it.
