Tired of SLI should I wait, or get a 780ti?

I currently have 2 670s powering a 2560x1440 monitor. they have worked okay but I miss single card option at a higher strength. I am considering a 780ti but cannot decide if its really worth the 700$. Although I could probably get 200$ for each 670 both non-reference one gigabyte one asus.


I heard the 880s wont be the new 20nm as well? So I am just a little unsure of what to do.
 
unless you absolutely need to play a game that 1440p that does not support SLI (like Need for Speed Rivals) do not upgrade
 
The 2x 670's is quite a bit quicker than a single 780 ti. If you were to buy a 780 ti you would be dropping in performance in almost every game out there. There are now a couple of games that show VRAM limitations and you have to run high textures instead of ultra, but you can still turn the other settings up because you have more compute performance.

I personally don't think its worth it, I also don't think going 2x670 to 2x 780 ti is very worth it either, the performance benefit isn't exactly massive to justify the outlay.
 
I'd wait for Maxwell before retiring those 670s in favor of a single-card solution. Also, no one knows a damn thing about the 880. Sure, there were rumors recently that it might not be based on 20nm, but basing your purchase decisions on rumors about a launch ~6 months from now is a supremely bad idea.

780ti with a healthy overclock is a little faster than 680 SLI. Buy a good aftermarket highly overclocked 780ti and you'll get more performance than your 670SLI setup without the multi-gpu problems.

You can see it here, compare the 690 to the overclocked Gigabyte 780ti. 690 is about 10% or so slower than a 680SLI setup.

Your spoiled.... dude most people are lucky to have a a single card. SLI is gimmick to make more money. I rather go single chip route,,
 
I have SLI 680's and am considering sidegrading to a 780 ti as well. Mainly because a couple games which I've played recently never supported SLI (Titanfall, Age of Wonders 3). Also I am waiting for the Oculus Rift DK2 and have heard that it does not work well with SLI due to increased input lag.
