Tired of routers dying. Help me find something reliable?

Hey guys! Hoping you can help me with a small dilemma before I drop a $ down again.

So I've been through my 7th router in 5 years now and I'm getting tired of the run of the mill stuff with the crappy ranges and crapping out when loads start going heavy.

With this current one a D-link DIR-635 has lasted me the longest but had to deal with the heaviest load. I did a few things to it to make it last a little longer. Port forwarded the PS3, X360, all my PC games, the any pc's with torrents I even put heatsinks on it.
Computer&
. But alas not even 2 years it's finally starting to drop out. It's strength was always been so-so.

Here's what I have connected to it:

Hardwired: Desktop, my 4700 printer, my upstairs PS3, a second computer that runs some background apps and does some hosting.

Wireless: X360, Wii, and downstairs PS3 which streams from my media server, 5 laptops, another printer a couple of phones (soon to be a few more).

I was thinking of three options:

Option 1:

I'm thinking of getting this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo

However I'm afraid that this won't sufficiently suffice because it's not true Dual-band and I have a lot of devices with both G and N band's.

along with maybe:
this: http://www.amazon.com/Booster-OMNI-D.../ref=pd_cp_e_4

or this: http://www.amazon.com/Booster-Antenn.../ref=pd_cp_e_1

Option 2:

This is where I am not to familiar with. I am thinking of getting a used business class router and a couple of AP points this way I can have more than 4 ethernet ports so I do't have to use a switch either and hopefully they will all last longer.

WWATD?

Option 3:
Plunk down some cash and get one of the top end true dual band routers from the big 3 like the Cisco 4200.

Appreciate any input.

http://www.mikrotik.com/

We have 35 Mikrotik devices spread out all over town, everything from p2p wifi links to routers for 50+ users to security systems, none have ever needed a reboot or acted weird in 6+ months. Not a long time I would agree, just saying how much we like them.

We use Actiontec and Zyxel for our residential gateways. Might give those a shot, we've had good luck with them thus far.

If so many of your routers have genuinely died, I would look into the possibility of a power problem (sags, spikes, etc.) where your routers have been located.

I've considered that as a possibility, I can't say for sure on all the previous routers but a few of them were on UPS, all have been on decent to good surge protectors. My current one is hooked up to a L2 Belkin PureAV that's about 3 yrs old. It never shows huge voltage drops always the usual +/-5v, my house is only 10 yrs old I don't think it's the wiring (I hope) and this last one I moved it upstairs to my room so it was more centralized and it greatly helped with the overall reception. None of my other electronics ever seem to have electrical problems. Still think I need to check my electrical? If so where do you think I should start? The router only poops out when a bunch of devices connect to it and all start doing work then I have to reset it ever few mins.
