After years of using PayPal, I am tired of being fee'd to death. What secure alternatives do you use for transferring funds for online payments that you would recommend? The more market saturation the better.

Thanks,
Bob

Paypal also owns Venmo, which is good for person to person payments. Square's Cash App is okay, as well, don't remember their fees.

The cryptocurrency alternatives aren't there yet in terms of transaction speed, low fees, ease of conversion to fiat, and market saturation yet or otherwise I would recommend something like Stellar Lumens.

Thanks for the responses - I did not mean crypto, just 'normal' (at least for the time being) currency for buying and selling of goods and or services. I meant secure in the way that they company is legit, at least the way a company can be legit until the feds show up - so, a method of exchanging (say dollars for arguments sake) money that I can use on places like OfferUp, etc for a good or service that I have to offer.

Fees are pretty standard across the board. Other things like cashapp and zelle are for personal money transfer between friends and family etc. If you are looking for a legit payment platform for good and services, then PayPal's fees are at par with everyone else, maybe even less compared to others in some cases.

Interesting ... so far I've only used Zelle to send money to my daughter @ school for which its fine.

However at the risk of stating the obvious anything other then cash and local pickup/meet on Craigslist deals is asking for trouble.

True, and Paypal and Venmo are targets of scams, as well.

Bitcoin kinda sucks as a currency exchange. The transaction confirmation times are slow, the fees are high, and you have to worry about it swinging in value as much as 20% in a single day.

You're honestly better off using Litecoin if you really wanted to use cryptocurrency. Doesn't sound like the OP wants to try, though. Smart.

Fortunately I've never had an issue with Paypal (beyond the fees!) however I know many have.

I am very careful, do the whole separate bank account thing and always immediately withdraw any funds over a few $'s.
