OK i upgraded to XP and loast my Cd creator 4 so i have the free trial version on CD creator 5. i have made several coasters.
I mostly use burning to copy cd's
what do u recommend?

The combination of Nero and CloneCD are all that you'll ever need. I use Nero for general purpose archiving and CloneCD for "backing up" games, etc..

I use Nero 4.0. I know there is a newer version about... but I don't need it. I do allot of CDRW's... backing up file and taking files to work. I use the InCD formatted disks using the program that comes with Nero. (similar to the Direct CD that Adaptec provide).
Copying from CD to CD is a breeze with Nero, you just use the wizard and away you go. Not as nice to look at but a far more stable program than EZCD creator 4.
There are hundreds of burning programs out there... Try them out and find the one that suits you and your needs.

to prevent coasters make sure to do cd copying by making it copy to harddisk first- takes longer but the single best way to reduce coasters. for nero (i agree, best burner s/w), uncheck the 'fly burning' when using the wizard.

It could be you hardware, untill I got a burnner with Burnproof I used to have 3to4 out of 10 coasters. BTW i use Adabtech and Clone CD
Now i have a Plextor 12x10x32 and have done more then 200 burns with not one coaster.

well yeah if u have a CDRW without burnproof/justlink then youre v likely to get at least some coasters. but if you dont got money for new drive do what i said 🙂

thanks guys
I have an LG 12x8x32 but dont know if it has burnproof???????????????
i was looking at NERO 5 the other day at BB.

One single vote for WinOnCD. And version 5 of the software has a lot of imporved feature... if you speak German. 🙂

I vote for Nero 5.5. It's incredibly simple and there's no headaches like with EZCD and XP. If you are still getting a lot of coasters, then it's probably something to do with your hardware. My Iomega 12x10x32 with burnproof has only produced one coaster in over 300 discs, and that's because I accidently hit the power cord. My old 2x2x6 burner would produce a coaster 1/2 of the time, even when I left the computer alone while burning.
