My HD just failed after about 6months of use (WD 500g), and this is probably the 5th or 6th hard drive failure within the past couple years. I swear they just don't make HD's like they used to.
I've lost so much important data that has cost me hours and lots of money to try and recover.
I've heard raid gives you security where you can just take out the faulty HD and replace it while still keeping your data and OS intact.
I did just buy an external HD for backup, but I would like something practical like RAID too where I can just replace the faulty HD without any loss of time.
Is this the best option or is there something new and better out there??
