Just got so really bad news about a family member's health around 6pm CST while at work. Now just can't sleep. Just the little things about everything are bothering me tonight, so what do you guys do to get some sleep when something like this happens?

Wow. Maybe you should go out, have some drinks with friends/family.

Under any other situations, drink.

I usually don't drink because well....I'm seriously a light weight. And it's 2am on a Friday morning, all the friends are resting it up for tonight.

Slap on some headphones and listen to some good music, that's what I usually do at night before I go to bed. Having headphones on takes you out of your element and some of the right music will just take you away from all your problems. Soon before you know it you'll wake up with your headphones on sideways and your music still blaring.

Then being a lightweight should make it real easy. Hope everything ends out well.

Oh man, that stuff knocks me out like nobody's business. Seriously, it totally wrecked me for two days. The effects (that began while driving home of course 'cause I had no idea it took effect so quickly - first time) were like being drunk and high at the same time. Then I slept for like 12 hours, and was dizzy/feeling wierd for the whole next day at work.

Guess it doesn't help that instead of that Mike's I'm drinking a Pitch Black....anyone else try this stuff? Not too bad, a lot better then the Pepsi Blue.

That's not gonna help, but as long as you're up, flip on some tube and try and relax. The one thing I enjoy about those insomniatic nights is the absolute serenity of the world. No hassles but the stuff that's keeping you up. Of course what's keeping you up can be worse than the trouble that daylight seems to bring.

Maybe take a walk? I go for walks around 2-3 in the morning a lot (normally when I get home from hanging w/friends this summer) and its absolutely gorgeous that time of night. It might just tire you a little if you go far enough.

Good question. I've been wandering my campus for the past hour or so, didn't work. When I wandered past my fraternity house they thought I was really drunk and tried to make pass out on the couch...that must not have worked since I'ms till here.
