Tire shop scratched my rims

For the first time in a long time I bought new tires locally. I usually just buy rims and tires from discount tire direct but I don't mind the stockers on my car so I figured I would just get some new sneaks locally. They gave me a pretty good price $960 for 4 BFG Gforce KDW's and a 4 wheel alignment. I needed the alignment cause I just put on my Eibach prokit a couple weeks ago and my original tires were showning major signs of fatigue.

So everything went real smooth until I got home to inspect the goods. To my complete dismay both driver side rims had some pretty good mounting scratches from somebody letting the mounting arm rub the rim as the tire was spun on. I was horrified. These are the only scratches on my mint 15k 08 350z.

I immediately called and talked to the manager, who was the guy I dealt with while at the shop. He was shocked about what I told him and asked me to bring the car back. When I got there he was very helpful. Not only did he acknowledge that they were indeed mounting scratches but immediately told me that he was the one that infact mounted the tires and was responsible for what happend. He also told me that he will call me back tomorrow with when/where/who was going to refinish my wheels for me.

WHile I'm bummed that the incident happened, I'm relieved that it seems, atleast so far, that I will be taken care of.

Tires are the only thing I ever take my car to the shop for since I don't exactly have the space or money for the machines to do the job.

This happened to my wheels when I had sticky weights on it and they put those metal clamp on ones.

It's scratched on the backside but I don't care anymore... can't really notice... if it was on the front I'd be pissed

I was given an infraction for posting in a similar thread, so I'm not gonna say anything here. Except that. Because.

Good of them to take care of you.

I had a similar issue, where some idiot used a screwdriver to remove the stick-on weights and scratched up my wheels. I would say 50% of the people here thought I was being unreasonable, although I ended up getting replacement wheels. There is no work ethic anymore.

At least he owned up to it!

Sidenote;
enjoy those new shoes while you can. Loved mine at first when I had set. Heroic amounts of grip but the noise and ride comfort after 15kmi is going to suck balls.
