Tire recommendations 2009 Forester

So my wife has a screw in her tire coming home today. Stupid construction nearby. And she is at 48k miles on the original (in my opinion shitty) Geolanders which are fairly road noisy and can feel every little bump in the road.

Id like to just replace all 4 tires with something more comfortable and less noisy that has good wet and winter grip. I went to tirerack and was thinking of these "PureContact with EcoPlus Technology"

Anyone have any other good recommendations? The size is 225/55R17's all around.

Thanks

Can't speak to those specific tires, but we had a set of the Conti CrossContact LX20 EcoPlus on our Murano and loved them. Those you linked to seem to be very well regarded, almost on par with Michelin Primacy MXV4's, their main competitor in that class of tire, from what I've read.

Personally, the Michelins are just that much better than the Conti tires, and if I were to do it over again, I'd have bought LTX MS2's instead of the CrossContacts. The Michelins are just better all around....handling, wet and dry grip, wear and quieter. Have a set of LTX MS2's on our trucks and won't buy anything else again, unless it's for a beater car.

I'd look at the Michelins very hard before you buy. Just my opinion but either choice...Conti or Michelin...will be a good choice.

Thanks. I was doing some more reading and was considering the Michelins MXV4s.

A bit more expensive but Tirerack said they rode really nice and quiet of the grand touring tires.
