Tire Pressure question.( edit with pics )

2 of my tires are at 17

ones at 12 , ones at 16

i dont think mine will inflate to 30

*and it doesnt say on the tire 🙁
 
I have the exact same tires and the same size. Really depends on what you're trying to do. If you want better ride quality (relatively, of course--ride quality basically sucks on 18s no matter what), I'd run them lower, like 30-35 psi. Most of the guys in the Audi clubs I frequent (and have 18s) run around 38 psi for better tire wear. I've seen some people run as high as 41 psi.

Uhh...17 psi on 18" tires? Holy sh!t, check your sidewalls... :shocked:

It doesn't give you a MAX pressure anywhere on the tire. I'd say the max is probably 40, and that it should be inflated to about 35. I'd check the tire again and make sure it doesn't say anywhere on there.

Usually the number on the tire is MAX pressure. 32psi is about right for any car. I run my fronts at 18 though, for obvious reasons (see sig).

It doesn't give you a MAX pressure anywhere on the tire. I'd say the max is probably 40, and that it should be inflated to about 35. I'd check the tire again and make sure it doesn't say anywhere on there.

Max pressure is 44 psi
I think it varies from tire to tire. Obviously I wouldn't run it at 44--35 I think should work just fine.

theyre now on 36 psi, im goan paint my brake calipers red soon.

Rims are kind of scratched up but i got these tires and rims for $200 for all 4

Anybody remember that honda forum post where the guy painted his calipers, hubs, rotors and everything? That was classic.
 
To get correct pressure one must obtain the value of operating weight (load) on each tire. This value is directly proporationate to the max load and max pressure specification on the sidewall. Always check tires when cold, typically driven < 1 mile at 20C ambient.

Remember the charge in the tire does NOT support the load, the tire does.
 
NEVER fill to the psi marked on the tire. Instead, open the driver's side door and look at the plate in the door jam. It says right there. Or read the fscking manual. Adjust a couple of psi (+ or -) to your own handling and comfort preferences.
 
I put probably 100+ PSI into a tire once. The gauge on the air pump at the garage was busted, and wouldn't show above 30PSI. I went back to my car to get my gauge - good thing, because whatever the pressure in the tire, it was waaaay off of the scale (max 50PSI) of the pocket gauge. I let air out... more air out... more air out... still off the scalle... more air out... let's just say, I'm very glad that the tire didn't explode in my face while filling, or the garage might have been well-deserving of a lawsuit for faulty equipment.

thing in the door only lists info on the the stock tires/ rims so does the manual.

Since i got bigger tires/rims it doesnt list those.
