Have you ever wonder why they call it always motherboard motherboard and motherboard..... what is someone no longer loves its mom.... anyone ever wondered if they just call it one day.. the Fatherboard....
 
The idea is all inanimate objects are considered female unless otherwise noted, So at the time when motherboards created thats what took hold.
You will also note that all add on's are daughterboards.

You would be the father of your system, A hot motherboard would would get knocked up and have many daughters (GFX cards or even multiple ones, sound add on's and HD's or opticals) depending how big a family you can afford.
Later when she is not putting out the performance as before you can DTB (Dump that Bitch) for a hotter setup (remember theres not child support in Virtual land) though some of the kids could come along till there old enough and then be replaced.

IF you get a hand-me-down system from somone you are getting A Single motherboard and all he basterd daughters.
If you get a system or hand-me-down and all you do is poor money into it to get it to perform then its a MoneyGrubbingMotherWhoreBoard, And if you cant get it to perform without tweaking the hell out of it then its a CrackMotherWhoreBoard.

not really, inanimate objects that man makes (such as a boat, a car, etc) are femininte...inanimate objects that nature makes (mountains, rivers, seas etc) are masculines...

disasters are females (e.g. hurricanes).
