Tire beads

Okay, I recently had some newly installed rims and one of the tires was loosing pressure over a three day period with no punctures. I assume it is the bead, so I am over inflating at times to adjust the bead then deflate to proper pressure and used some fix-a-flat. Any other tips or just continue to monitor pressure on a weekly basis.

by fix-a-flat, do you mean that goop that you spray into the tire valve?

don't use fix-a-flat except in emergencies.

Agreed......you have just made a complete mess of the inside of your rim and tire. When you go to get your tires changed, they will charge you tons of $$$ to clean up your rim....which has to be done in order to properly seat the tire.

No they won't.

They'll just HATE you for it, especially if you don't tell them.

They have the right to charge you for a service.

Uh yes they do... Or atleast my guys do as well as all other tire shops in town... 😉

Also Fix a flat is not permanent either and is for emergency use only... If you have a tire leaking down you need to find out why and most likely it will either be a valve stem or possibly a defective rim...? (if no puncture is found...?)
