So I have avoided facebook for a long time, but recently, I have heard that employers look at potential employee facebook pages to check out what they are like. This has made me worried since if they can't see my facebook, they might not look further into my application.

I need tips on how I should start the facebook out. Obviously, I need to make facebook friends with as many popular people as possible. Any shortcuts to doing this? I'm thinking of paying people. What douchebag wouldn't want 10 dollars for taking a picture with me and "friending" me?

Any marketing students have more suggestions? I need help selling myself. Thanks.

That's what interviews and resumes are for. If anything, they're probably just looking for real incriminating shit that they wouldn't otherwise find out about you. Like, for example, on your page listing, it shows things you like (if you don't disable it). So if you like taking a huge bong rip in the mornings, or getting drunk and calling out of work the next day, they'll more than likely pass on you. That's pretty much all employers look at when checking Facebook pages -- how blatantly stupid you come off to anybody that can see your page.

My Facebook is locked down tight, and I can't even be searched for. If an employer isn't impressed with my portfolio and my resume, my Facebook page isn't going to do me any favors.
