Tips on Mr Bubbles in Bioshock?

How do you kill them?

I just finished the first "world" beating the Surgeon boss and had to kill one of the things so that I could get Adam from the girl.

Now it took me like 3-4 deaths to get him. I ended up doing it via electric buck + electric plasmid...

Any tips? I was trying to strafe out of his way and such, I would always be caught reloading and he would rush me.

Also, how do I get back my other plasmids?

Keep playing...You'll figure it out. There's lots of ways to kill them. Be creative.

My personal favorite is to shoot a bunch of trap bolts down a narrow alleyway, then attract the big daddy's attention and have him run through them all to shock himself to death

You are aware that you don't NEED to fight the big daddys right? If you aren't ready for a fight, leave them alone and they will leave you alone. When you have enough ammo/plasmids equipped, then make your move. You need to find a gene bank to change out plasmids. They are usually placed in a few places around the maps. Take your time and explore every nook and cranny to find useful stuff.

Yeah I had 6+ health and plasmid so I thought I would try it before moving out of that world. I had saved the first girl so I wanted to harvest this one.

Do they kill on sight? This game is alot more involved than my previous shooters (FEAR, Crysis, HL2)

The first couple are somewhat tricky since you don't have much weaponry at that point. Hit and run attacks with electric buck are the best option at that stage. Try to fight them in a room with some object in the middle that you can hide behind, so you can always get yourself out of their line of sight when you want to (important when reloading). You need to repeatedly use first aid kits whenever you get hurt (usually 5 or 6 total for each big daddy at that point), but there is plenty of health in the game.

The Rosie grenades can also be tossed back at them with telekinesis, although it's kind of hard to pull that off and the grenade often won't explode unless it hits them directly. Also, you can't damage them while they are in a pre-set animation, so if they're pulling a sister out of a hole, don't waste ammo on them until they are completely done with it.

These enemies become much easier after you get the grenade launcher and get some research done on them. I don't think they pose much of a threat from the Arcadia level onward, especially since ammo (for everything) also becomes very common.

Once you get cryo spray it's trivial.

Electric Gel. It does alot of damage, stuns them, and can be made in the machines.

That first one is pretty rough, they get much much easier as you progress through the game. I would honestly just make sure that as you play you make sure to pick up electric buck shot/electric gel and save it for Big Daddies. Also try to keep the charm big daddy plasmid for use as this makes it cake. Just charm one, make him fight a second. One will die and one will have like 5% health which makes it easy to kill. Bam, 2 dead big daddies.

The electric gel is good against them, but by the time you first get it they've become quite easy and you have several other ways to deal with them.

Electric gel and electric buckshot are hugely helpful against them. I always stayed stocked on the electric buck just for these guys.

I recently replayed it on hard and I took out the first one using nothing but electric buck and I didn't lose any health. Electricity in general is good (e.g. electric chem spray) because it damages and stuns them.

They?re also vulnerable to armor piercing rounds, and you can periodically hit them with a fire plasmid so they'll burn while they're stunned.

Once I have more weapons I open up with explosives from the grenade launcher and then switch to either electric buck or armor piercing tommy-gun rounds to finish them off.

Also once you get the camera be sure to take pictures of them (especially action shots) as you?ll get research bonuses. Also take pictures of little sisters as you?ll get bonuses from them too.

It's not that hard. Just make sure you have some health packs and you'll be fine. If you have mines, even better.

Seems like everyone likes the electric buckshot. I thought the exploding buckshot was more effective. I'd launch a couple of grenades, then finish with exploding buckshot.

Early on, you should shock him when he rushes, and fire electric or armor piercing rounds at him when he is not. When you reload switch to the electric plasmid and shock him to daze him while you reload.

Once you get the chemical thrower, just use 100 units of electic gel on him and he will go down without even attacking you. Upgrading the gun will bring that down to 50.

Once you get electric attacks, it's amazingly easy. The two best are the shotgun and "thrower" with electrified attacks. Freeze them first to slow 'em down, then bring them up close and unload. Otherwise, use armor piercing ammo, freeze, haul ass. Or use a fire attack to wear it down.

It also helps to hack any turrets or rocket launchers in the area and then lure them in front of those for the fight. Lure them out in front of a hacked turret, hit them with electric buck to stun them, and they go down pretty quick.

I generally didn't waste ammo on them, to be honest. I find that it's more enjoyable to spend a little time figuring out the least costly way to fight them. It's surprisingly easy to get them in range of a camera (or a turret) and hit them with the security tag plasmid. Cue the flying deathbots, then sit back and take pictures, repeat if necessary. Hack a deathbot for yourself if you feel inclined.

Enrage is also pretty awesome, especially if you can get two Daddies to fight each other. Set everyone on fire for added hilarity.

Flinging explosives with telekinesis works best if you can get a Daddy to chase you right into a pile of explosives. Set the pile off for an insta-kill.

Everyone says electric gel is great too, but I never used the stuff because the flame-thrower was just too awesome to put down.
