Was recently moved into a basement and its lonely down here. I was thinking about spicing it up with some decor and making friendlier. Don't really need help with living quarters. I picked up some nice furniture from people on craigslist, they were apparently facing foreclosure so I negotiated them down alot on a TV, TV stand, and cofee table because I knew they needed the money. I just need a sofa to complete that. I'm more interested in what to do with the rest of the place.

There are two open space rooms that are completely empty. They don't serve any function or purpose and I want them to! I'm thinking fooze table? PC Gaming bench? I don't have many ideas, can anyone help?

Did you pay those people what the furniture is worth? Or did you play on their desperation?

Possibly buy a rope to hang yourself with?

Suggestions such as that are not welcome here, even in jest.

If you're like me, build a model airplane boneyard, or fill it with random RC car parts and junked electronics. There's also our lovely collection of fluff and vintage 80s tableware.

Seriously, I think it depends on what style you want to achieve and how much space you have. Ikea is a good enough place to start if you don't have a lot to spend.

50's nuclear bunker style

BSDM style

Prison style

Make it look like you're outside in a forest.

I could go on...the possibilities are endless.

I am thinking about turning a corner of my basement into a home theater for my guests.

I'd go with some grow-lights and plants in a corner here and there, and an aquarium, to bring the lack of windows and lack of seeing life into the area you are in, so it feels more like a home and less like a bunker. Then I would personally fill the rest with comfy furniture here and there and lots of computers and computer stuff but that's just me. :)
