Being raised in the South, I was brought up to think that opening doors and such was just something you did.

I'm from the south (and normally an asshole) and I open doors for most people....women, men, old, young, black, white, etc.. It's just how I was raised, and it's how I raise my son. However, if someone cuts me a look (usually liberal looking women) and don't say thanks I yell "YOU'RE WELCOME!!!!" as loud as I can with a huge eat shit smile.
