tips on building a water cooling system?

I need a quiet cooling solution and water sounds to be the best. The key is ultra quiet. I record music on my PC and my sensitive condenser mics pick up the fan noise :| I want only one fan running besides the psu fans, which means the one fan should probably pull air from inside the case and shoot it out the back over the radiator.

I would buy but I thought I might be able to build it cheaper (yes/no?). I am overclocking (specs in sig) so water-cooling would serve a dual purpose here.
 
you could get a giant radiator and a good iwaki pump with lots of head... put the pump/radiator in another room/garage/underground 😉

Just need a good pump to push water through long tubes.


But then the problem would be hard drive noise... a 'terminal-like' solution would be best.

My recommendations....
IF noise is truly an issue, perhaps a Zalman reserator might be in your area - only pump noise, but these don't cool much better than a decent air cooling setup
You can get fanless PSUs, but they run a bundle
To reduce HD noise, pick up a Samsung Spinpoint

there's a bundle that can be written on this, so I'll stop here for now
 
IF your not a water-coolin enthusiast, I would just suggest getting a pre-built kit. I've heard that the Koolance Exos is a very quiet setup. Might want to check it out.
 
prebults are crappy, do it yourself or dont do it at all (try clocling it down as much as you can and lower voltage A LOT when ur doing ur music thing). i'll be putting pics and a HUGE how to (maybe even getting a sticky) on homemade watercooling, but i gotta borrow a camera from either a neibhor or my school. it will include materaials, how to modify the materials, step by step, right up to the power up and checkign those nice temps, so i recommend waiting and checking out the guide. you can build it much cheaper (mine cost well under 75 bux) and much more cooling, i mean awesome temps, awesome!
