Tips for using Arctic Silver Epoxy?

I have some heatsinks I am addinf to my VC and some chips on the mobo. I have some AS Thermal Adhesive/Epoxy, but I am kinda leery of using it having read some the bad crap that happens if you foul it up, i.e. get it on the traces or leads.
Just curious if using regular ASII with dabs of superglue in the corners is a safer way to attach the heatsinks? I am reallly in no mood to fuX0r this up tonight.

Thanks for any tips or suggestions...
