Tips for the Samsung 930b 19" LCD

Got this monitor a couple months ago under $200 and was underwhelmed by the bleeding contrast levels. After much tweaking and playing with the TUner software from the disk, I almost gave up and returned the monitor.

I then stumbled across a program on the disk that came with the monitor called "Natural Color". I ran this simple calibration tool and WOW! The monitor is now 100 times better. The contrast and black levels are now much more acceptable and the colors don't appear washed out.

Great stuff.

I also recommend a DVI connection and enabling the True Type setting in Windows.

Just some advice....

Display properties-->appearance-->effects-->font smoothing-->ClearType.

It renders fonts with a different kind of anti-aliasing to make them look clearer on the pixel stripes LCDs use.

Thanks for the tip! Just got my 930B today for Christmas and I'm still tweaking it. The ClearType font really helped.

I have my brightness at 65 and contrast at 90, but I am also still tweaking my settings, anyone else?
