I've been trying to gain muscle for the past few months now, and have been able to gain nearly 20 lbs, which was around what my goal was..and would now like to burn off some of the fat I put on. What are the best ways to do this?

Eat fewer carbs, more protein, and do an hour of aerobic exercise a day.

That 20lbs you put on is NOT MUSCLE.

Lower your intake, and jog/walk/ride bike more.
This works and has been around along time.

Excercise within 1 hour of waking up. When you sleep, your body burns off stored carbohydrates. The only thing left if you work out early in the morning is the stored fat...

Ditto. Just run.

How all are you and how much do you weigh?

If you want to look *cut* then wake up and run between 7-8am 6x a week. I did that for 6 weeks and I was cut. Nothing special. Carried on O-Lifting 3x a week. Did the running with a friend. Ran for a good 1hr in the mornings 6x a week for the first 3 weeks. Then dropped it to 5x a week for the remaining 3 weeks we did it for. I was @ 12.7% bf in the pic.

btw *spot reduction* is impossible unless you like taking a knife to flesh and lots of blood.....OUCH...

You don't even have to run. Moderate walking of the same distance is just as effective with less impact on the joints. I lost nearly 20 pounds in one month by putting on a ruck sack and walking for 2-3 hours every other day.

I'm 5'9", 175. I'm pretty content with my size right now, and would definitely like to add some cutness to it all..

Seriously man just run. Cut back on the eating as your not looking to get any mass gains.

Then just run 5x a week. Run for a good 1hr or so. Get a friend to do it if you have a friend that likes to work out. LUCKY for me I had a friend that CAN wake up in the mornings and we ran together. It was good for both of us. He'd get my lazy ass out of bed by coming over to my place then we'd run.

4 to 6 weeks is a good time frame. If you stick to it you can cut up nicely.
