Tips for long motorcycle trip

Hi,

I have an '88 Kawasaki ZX750R sport bike, with 10L gas tank, and I want to take a 1000 km trip from Calgary->Vancouver through the mountains. Any tips on taking long trips?

Get some nice riding gear and ride with someone more experienced than you.
Make sure your bike is in perfect condition, an oil change before the trip would't hurt. Check your tires, battery, brake and coolant fluids.
Have a nice and safe ride.

if you don't have a riding suit take lots of breaks!....i rode my bike from the bay area to central cali (santa barbara). it took me over 6 hours! i wore jeans and a simple leather jacket. after a hour so or so i'd get all numb. it usually only takes 5 hours w/ a car.

Get a windshield if you don't already have one. It cuts down on fatigue drastically. Sorry, I'm not familiar with your bike so I don't know if it has one or even what type it is. Windshields are ugly on most bikes I think, but once I got one, I don't think I'd ever take a trip more than 50 miles without one.
