Tips for installing new mobo?

I am going to be installing a new motherboard, and I was wondering if there's anything I should do with respect to the OS/software (short of doing a clean install of the OS) to ensure that I have as few problems as possible. I'm going to be going from a BX chip to a VIA.

Thanks.

Be sure to download the via chipset drivers and if you do a fresh install of the os you should immediately install the drivers before any other software installation.

if u have any software that directly interfaces with hardware (ie, creative liveware, creative blaster control), you might want to disable it from startup or temporarily remove it...(i had problems, but it doesn't necessarily mean that you would)

also, to keep the registry clean, you might want to clear out the entries under hikey_local_machine/enum and have windows redetect everything (assumming u have win9x/me)...do that right before you install the motherboard...
