You've got most of it covered. Just need to train your sleep pattern to get up at 6:30.

Try going to be at 9:30 or 10:00. Try to get at the very least 8 full hours of actuall sleep. More if you feel tired in the morning.

That's what got me through college.

Only white people would do such stupid things.

Yeah well only black people would listen to soul music!

You understand how utterly ridiculous, not to mention racist those two statements are? I suggest you avoid posting cr@p like that in the future.

Two alarm clocks. One in one corner of the room and then one in the other. That way when you hear one go off you're bound to hit the snooze button. But once you turn that one off you'll have to walk halfway across the room to turn the other off. Two times of doing this will get you up for sure.

Why no caffeine?

Best thing I've learned for getting up early - and it took me years to figure out - is to go to bed earlier. I never like getting up in the morning but it's no longer a problem like it used to be. I just hop out and I'm good to go. During the week I get about 8 hours sleep more nights than not and the 9-10 on the weekend when I have no alarm and sleep as late as my body wants.

Maybe you could try some herbal sleeping pills for a week or so to get you off to sleep a little earlier? I never could get up properly at university, because I was going to bed too late. Seriously, hit the hay at about 9-9:30 for a few days and you'll be getting up fine. Drink a little warm milk too :)

Ooh, almost forgot - I was a milkman for a while a few years ago, which meant 3am starts all week. Trust me, that's incredibly nasty and horrible compared to 6:30 ;)

(It gets easier, but the first few days will be a bit of a drag)

Don't worry about it. Someday it will become such an ingrained habit, you won't even need the damn alarm. Soon you'll simply plop automatically out of bed and join the rest of us on our daily grind.

What I did was download a timer program that plays an mp3 on your computer as an alarm. Then I would make sure I cranked my speakers up to max before I went to bed. Then I taped the volume button. It would wake me up pretty quick and I wouldnt be able to just turn the volume down and go back to get a few minutes in because the volume control is taped shut.

This is the best advice I've seen so far. I have mine on the other side of my beroom at the foot end of the bed so that I have to get up and go around the bed to shut it off. I started off with the music alarm 30 minutes prior to needing to be up but I got to where I didn't even hear the music so I just quit setting it. I now have the beeper(really loud and not settable?) set to go off when I need to pull out of bed and after turning it off I head straight for the head. :)

Good luck with the new job I hope you enjoy it.
