tips for cooling a hot chipset

I have this motherboard: biostar a770e3

The chipset runs really hot. Like 50 C idle w/ the case door off.

Any tips/ideas to get it to run cooler?

The heatsink is very hot to the touch, so it's obviously being efficient at grabbing the heat, it's just not getting rid of it fast enough.

Is this a normal/expected temp or is there a ghetto way to get it cooler? I have other MOBO's i can cannabalize w/ chipset fans and other fans, etc.

50c is not so bad. If you are worried about it put a small fan on the heatsink. Or put on a larger heatsink, those are pretty much the only 2 options.

Reapplying the thermal compound could help...shouldn't really need a fan or new heatsink to get the temperature a little lower. Sometimes the manus do a crappy job with the thermal tape/paste.

What is the airflow in your case? If you have adequate airflow I'd just replace the stock heatsink with an aftermarket one. I bought a Zalman one for $5 for an older Socket A board (hated the noisy little fan).
