Looking to buy a mini-fridge instead of renting it ($200 to rent for the year!). So what can I get for up to $200, and what should I look for in buying one? Any info on brands to look at? And what major retailer stores should I be looking at? I'm in the Irvine (CA) area if that helps.

I saw several brands at Home depot the other day with prices ranging from $99 to $149.

CostCo B&M has an excellent Sanyo mini fridge for $149

It's really nice because it's perfect for a bedroom, office or dorm room not a tiny mini fridge because it can hold a few 2 liters and more beverages!

Depends on what you're looking for.. Target has a nice selection.

I use THIS at work to keep a stash of soda.

A friend of mine got THIS for his computer room.

THIS also looks like it would fit the bill...

I think I've got the exact mini-fridge you're talking about. The 2.5 cubic foot Sanyo, right? I got mine at BB back home in Ohio for $119 (for the month before college started I watched the paper and it went down in price $10 each week as the back-to-school sales got better). It's a great little fridge so far. I'm very glad I got the 2.5 cubic foot instead of the 1.8 cubic foot. The 1.8 would have definitely been too small. Bought my own 'fridge and microwave for less than half of the price to rent a "micro-fridge" for a year, and this way I can keep them, as well as getting to use new machines where I know what's been in them.

I think that's it, unfortunately I don't know what size the CostCo Sanyo is. Does it have a silver finish or glossy door?

I like it because it's more spacious than the typical mini-mini-fridge but it's not huge either.

Mine's got the white exterior, but the 2.5 cu.ft. with the silvery door is internally the same as mine. (I wasn't about to pay an extra $10 just for a silver door).

The Costco site says it's a 3.6 Sanyo..

Me and my roommate have one for our dorm room. It's quite nice if you ask me, and it beats renting. :)
