i'm a junior in high school right now, and i'm planning on applying for jobs after the April ACT. What are some good tips i should remember when applying? and is it too earlyt o apply if my start date will be early june?

you don't provide much info to go on so I will just say be punctual, polite, follow up as much as possible, and don't misspell anything on your applications.

I'm applying at retail stores like best buy, circuit city, theaters, etc. Would it be wise or unwise to apply in april and say you can start in june on the application?

I would check out movie theaters too! If you are 17 or 18 you should be able to get a job as a cashier 🙂 You work for an hour, then sit around for an hour. Plus you get free movies for you and your friends, free popcorn and pop, etc. YMMV depending on the managers/owners of the theater you work at.

oh yea, if youre in california and near the modesto or fresno, I can hook you with a job. youll be picking strwaberries or peaches or cutting grape, but youll get paid better than a teather...

Say, "I bet mine is bigger than yours". Wait about 5 seconds, then just whip it out. I bet that guy (or woman) will remember you for the rest of their lives.

For jobs like these, it's highly unlikely that you'll get hired for a starting position a few months later. In the start of your career most jobs you'll get are because there's an open position right now.

When they ask if you have any questions ask a few basic questions and then close with something to this effect.

"I have no more questions. I'm really interested in this job and would like to know if you have any hesitations about hiring me."

This sometimes catches people off guard, allow them to not answer. If they do answer though, they might say, "Well I'm worried about your availability or xxxx." Try to honestly tell them why they're wrong. That one question has gotten me so many 2nd interviews.
