Be careful getting in and out of the backseats. My uncle had a 67 hardtop, and I crushed the boys good one day on that stupid door pillar. Sumofabitta, that tingled!

From the ebay ad for this '67 Continental: (Convertible needs a hydraulic cylinder replaced to be working 100%). -- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Not working 100% = 0% in this case!!

One small caveat, there, emptor. These cars are notoriously hard, and expensive, to work on. The convertible top mechanism alone is a nightmare of 8 million hard to access, always malfunctioning relays.

And, oh boy, take a look at the flip forward hood just barely larger than the air cleaner!!

Still, it IS an American classic. I always featured the 62-63's, myself. There was a critical period in the late 60's-early '70's when you could get these dirt cheap, like $500 for one in the condition like the one your looking at, or as low as $1500 for a decent one.

Good luck!

OMG!
You americans must have HUGE parking lots.
Is there any way to drive/park this beast in town without getting stuck somewhere.

In Sweden he would have to pay for 2 cars when parking. It just doesn't fit anywhere.

You go, nate! Edsel Ford, (creator of the original Lincoln Continental and NOT the creator of the Edsel, which was sentimentally named in his honor) would be proud!

As long as you don't think it's going to be a daily driver off the bat it could be a fun project...

Great car but watch out for RUST!!!!!! That Linclon is a unibody construction like the early T-Birds. Jacksonville Florida is real close to the ocean air. Other than that the parts might be a little hard to find but not impossible.

Have fun and good luck.

Wow! Friend of mine purchased one of those as his first car in 1974. It was expensive to repair even then. He parked it at his sister's and left it running. It went into reverse by itself and backed into and on top of a neighbor's 6' tall hedges! :Q He got rid of it shortly after...

There's also the rust issue to consider. Man, that was a BIG problem for Fords of that vintage.

Good luck on whatever cruiser you decide on!
