tipping in a buffet

Less than I would for full service, but not $0. Probably 10-15%. I figure the waiters at a buffet probably have fewer tables to take care of.

Tipping is all dependant on what you wish to volunteer above and beyond what you're required to pay (what's on the bill). Give tip to whomever you wish in whatever amount you wish -because it's 100% up to you for both.
and don't feel obligated to tip generously. what i mean is...if someone gives you crappy service they deserve a crappy tip.
 
This thread is why banquet hall workers shouldn't feel bad about making the special house gravy even more "special". 😉
 
The only buffet I go to is Todai... and generally, all they do is get your drinks and give you your check. 10% at most.
 
the ones i go to they usually bring you your drinks/drink re-fills, so i leave $0.50 to $1.00 per person depending on how often/how well they take care of us and remove plates, etc.
