tipping at Sonic?

since the beautiful 5 for $5 after 5pm on Tuesdays, I have been hitting up my local Sonic. Great food, but what, if at all, are you supposed to tip the carhop folks?

Whenver my girlfriend and I go to Sonic (not too often), she always wants me to tip those who come out in skates. I, being the cheapass that I am, do not care to tip them even if they came out on ice skates.

I say no tip at all. They are a fast food joint after all. Not your fault they won't let you come in to get it.
 
it is one of the reasons i don't like to go to sonic, it isn't that i don't want to tip them, it is just awkward/i don't know how much

some of them have drive thru windows, that solves the problem
 
Sonic servers are luckier than other fast food workers. They get to enjoy the fresh air, or auto exhaust, instead of being cooped up in the greasy kitchen. They get to hit on members of the opposite sex, or same sex, whatever the case may be.
 
My wife always makes me tip them a little. I guess I'm a tightwad because I can't see why I should tip fast food workers, especially when 7 out of 10 times Sonic screws up my order.

I usually tip very well (25-30%) when I go to restaurants like Outback, Logans, Olive Garden, etc.

I'm not tipping someone that does nothing but brings me my food.

Should I tip the cashier at the grocery store? I mean they do have self checkouts now. Its FAST FOOD. No tip.

Hot/Friendly girl ...... $1.00
Hot girl ....................$0.50
Average/Friendly girl $0.75
Average girl .............$0.50
Ugly/Friendly girls......$0.50
Ugly girl .................. $0.25

Male car hops get $0.00.
If I can't decide if they are male or female, then they get nothing.

I will add that 99% of the time I got to sonic, I don't tip more than $0.25.
 
I agree it is very awkward because I feel like they shouldn't be tipped...but then feel bad not tipping them. I have never tipped them though...but I haven't been to a sonic in a while.
 
I never tip at Sonic.. give me a freakin break.. now EVERYWHERE has those tip lines when I use my credit card. WHat the hell should I tip you for? YOu get paid.. now a waitress doesnt make hardly anything hourly cause they are setup to live on tips. 20% for them.
