Hi,

To tell if your ATI card is a BBA(Built By ATI) or PBA(Power By ATI) and/or is a Pro or NON-Pro, find your card P/N number which is located on a sticker on the back of the card. With that, you can do use these sites found on ATI website:

If you need to know whether an ATI card is "Built By ATI" or "Power By ATI", then goto this site:
ATI P/N Sticker

Also, if you trying to figure out if your card is a Pro or NON-Pro, try this site out:
P/N Database

I bought an ATI Radeon 9700pro and looking on the back of the card, I found out that the sticker read, "ATI Radeon 9700". I was like, "WHOA! I thought I bought an 9700Pro. Why didn't it say Pro on it." So I checked the clock/mem frequency, there were at Pro speed, but that didn't ease my mind. So I went to the site, and looked up the card P/N number. And seconds later, ATI website told me it's a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro. While at the site, I want to know whether my card was BBA or PBA. So again, searched through ATI website to find the page that describe how to tell, and my P/N has all numbers with no alpha-numeric in it, so it's a BBA. So yeah, helpful tips if you want to figure out if a card is BBA/PBA or is a Pro/NON-pro. I think it would work for XT and SE.

-Thanks

my oem 9700pro had a p/n, but the ATI engine did not recognize it. Still it looks like a built by ATI and works great. I bought it super cheap as ATI changed over to 9800pro - so it came in a white box with a nice generic manual. I bought it from a fairly untrustworthy store, so was concerned at first - but if it walks like a duck...
