Tip the grocery delivery guy?

Here in Toronto we have this service called grocery gateway. Go online and pick out what groceries you want and pay with CC. Makes life easier and saves time (we're students without a car and live a fair distance from the grocery store).

The prices (overall) are 10-20% higher than an average grocer and there is an added delivery charge of $10.

How much do you think I should tip the delivery person? I'm not really accustomed to having groceries delivered and what sort of tip is customary.

Personally I wouldn't tip them with the price increase and delivery charge, but if you want to be nice throw in an extra 5%.

Unless they specifically say not to tip their delivery guys, I'd give him a couple bucks. FreshDirect (similar NYC service) used to say NO TIPS, but now they say if you feel like it you can, so I give the guys a couple bucks if it's hot or snowing or raining or something.

In the past I never tipped them and they didn't seem like it was expected but I thought of it recently and wanted to see what the deal was and how much/if others tipped.

Hope its not insulting if I give him $2.

I don't even have a fiver in my wallet (only 20s) :(
