Tip for those using Windows Mail on Windows Vista.

I haven't seen this on any tip site so here goes.
If you let your Windows Mail get real big, and you know who you are, you may have noticed there is no more option to manually compact your mail folders.
In Tools-Options-Advanced-Maintenance you can specify the number times you must open
Windows Mail before it automatically compact the folders. The default is 100.
I had a customer with a mailbox into the gigabytes who gets hundreds of messages a day. By changing the default to 50 his email is running way better.

Thanks for the tip. I've been testing out the new Mail app via the Live Essentials pack alongside the W7 beta, and I'm liking it. I currently use Outlook 2007, but really only because it was free back when Vista launched. Outlook is way too advanced for my needs, as I don't use anything other than the contacts list and a single inbox.

I actually like the way Mail easily handles multiple email accounts and separates everything in the left bar for quick access. I'll probably use Mail full time when W7 launches (assuming I buy it).
