Tiny pixel problem in LCD?

This is the second day I've had my Dell UltraSharp 2001FP LCD, and still loving it... but just now noticed when the screen is dark, there is a single pixel near the upper right middle area that is green. Apparently it's green at all times, but only noticable on a dark or contrasting colored background.

Is the monitor defective? Bad cable? Should I send it back for another? I'd hate to wait another week to use this sweet monitor again. =(

Its a stuck pixel.... Personally, that would drive me up a wall, so i would send it back and get another.. Keep in mind though, most companies consider anything up to 8 or so stuck/dead pixels acceptable.... Unfortunately, no consumer does....

Also, there is no guarantee the next one won't have 3 dead/stuck....

How does it get that way? I could almost swear I would have noticed it yesterday... Did I do it somehow? Has it happened since yesterday?

Besides, won't Dell replace it for free, repeatedly if need be until I get it perfect?

Its that way from manufacturing. Actually, dead pixels are amazingly low if you think about the amount of pixels. With some of the panels having just a few dead pixels, it actually relates to maybe 1 in a million dead, which is extremely tight tolerances for the industry. That is why they wont replace it unless it has enough dead or enough dead in a sqaure inch. That is one reason i choose my Planar. If there is more than three dead pixels, they will replace it and pay for 2 day shipping both ways.

I see. So from the sounds of it, I'm lucky to have only 1 heh. Oh well, I guess it's not that bad. *sigh*

Will more pop up over time or ihow does it work?
