Tiny House - No Toilet - How do I go about getting sewer setup

I'm planning on buying a tiny house that can be delivered to a land where I have in mind. The house is about 240 sq ft and does not have toilet or any water system. I don't have to have water and sink as I can purchase water from the grocery store. But I need at least a toilet for me to take dump on. The land I have in mind is an empty lot and it is in residential area. It's an old housing division and the tiny house is permitted.

My question is, since it's a housing division I'm sure I can get sewer connected to my tiny house. Do I have to get water and sewer service both? or just sewer? I just need to use the toilet to get waste out of the house. Obviously I will need to purchase the toilet. And how much will the city charge me for getting sewer connected for my tiny house? I live in Indianapolis area.

Thank you,

Will they let you put up a house with no water or sewerage in a residential area?

But I need at least a toilet for me to take dump on.

Traditionally that's done in a toilet rather than on but maybe it's a regional thing.

It's roughly $10k to get a new line tapped into the sewer main. $5k for a new water line and meter.

Also, I don't believe you.

If it doesn't have power, sanitation, water, and heat, it's non-habitable.
There will almost certainly be some type of permit process, and you're going to have to conform to whatever rules are in place. Those first four things I mentioned will be on the list.

Find out if you're allowed to do septic + well. will be cheaper as it's one less bill to worry about. then put solar panels for power.

Thats kinda my dream. To live semi off grid but still close enough to the city to not be too sheltered. Utilities are too expensive and keep going up every year.

Either this is one of the most ill thought plans I've ever heard, or a troll post. Unless you're far out in the sticks, the regulations/permits/fees are gonna eat up all the money you're trying to save, and the government will make life painful when you're caught doing something wrong.

If you're serious, I'd look into setting a camper on state park campgrounds. You get some basic infrastructure that makes life nice, and few hassles. Dunno the cost, but it looks like a nice way to live to me. I stayed a few days in a park in MA, and was amazed to see people with decks on their campers. They were semipermanent residents. Get tired of the area, load up your house and go somewhere else.

These are at least the fun kind of trolls because we can kind of play around with our responses. I fully support this kind of trolling to help keep the forum light hearted and keep our feet on the ground.

Agreed.

Seriously, though, I don't think this will solve OP's myriad issues, because the devil can still find him in the tiny house, toilet or no. I think OP needs to request sanctuary at his nearest cathedral or monastery.

...actually, that's not a bad idea. OP: have you looked into the monastic life?
