Tinted tail lights?

I'm getting window tint next weekend, but I was wondering, do the tinted tail lights look too ricy?

I have an Escort ZX2 ((tails of random one)), and here's the car in my color.

For clarification, I'd tint out the strip that goes across my trunk lid as well. That shouldn't be too bad, right? I don't intend to go buy Altezzas or anything stupid, though. :p

tail light tint is rice. plus it makes it harder for people to see... do you want to be rear ended?

I didn't say I was blacking them out, I was just going to darken them up a little. I have brighter bulbs here any way to throw into them, so I was going to have them out anyway, that's why I asked. I haven't seen it really, and I'm just anxious to do shit to my car, haha.

And it's an escort, not a focus. Don't give me that much credit. :p

The only car I thought tinted taillights looked nice on was on some girl's Audi A5 MT. It was white, debadged, wheels painted white, and the windows (all of them, including the windshield) were blacked out, so it went with the theme.

My personal opinion of them is that not only in addition to being a safety hazard, they are very blatant cop magnets. There are enough ricers out there, don't turn your Ford econobox into one, also.

I have the exact same car / same color. I was made to remove the tint by the police in Williamsport, PA. I bought the car with the tint, and didnt even know there was aftermarket tint on the windows till I got a citation for it. That being said, I would leave it stock, its a good looking car, no need to rice it out.

How many miles does yours have?

I got mine at 80k 2 years ago, and am about to hit 130k and have not had single repair besides replacing the tires, and oil changes. The car has been incredible.

Tinted taillights CAN look good but reduce the visibility. I have a black car and I tinted my tails to match the car but was concerned about safety and got LED tails with black housings so I get the darkness look plus the brightness of LED's. And no it's not legal to tint tails or headlights.

Tint's legal in Ohio, I think I just have to keep it under....35%? on the front windows. I'll end up going with like 50% all the way around though, I don't like the overly dark black.

90k, and I paid 2200. It was an absolute steal. The previous owner kept all maintenance records, and I just need to get some tires on it. I'll up the rims a size and get the stock ones, though.

And yeah, I saw a pic of a blue ZX2 with tint on the tails, blegh.

Escort ZX2... why are you wasting money on that?

Very few cars actually look good with tinted taillights. A simple all red or red and clear looks (not altezza style) looks so much better.

Tinted tail lights, a bent antenna, and perhaps spinner hubcaps will really make the car pop with coolness.
