I have had 3 "new" monitors from Sony, all have the same problem.

The left side of the screen is tinted grey, the left, tinted blue. This has happened on 3 different video cards, so I doubt its that. Is this normal for Sony monitors? If so, thats pretty poor quality, and I can't see how people recommend them.

bump for an answer...I have a monitor that the entire left side (about 1.5 inches) is tinted a brownish color, and is really noticeable on white backgrounds, and its ugly.

We have over 150 Sony monitors here at the office, none of them have that problem. Neither does mine at home.

Do you have unshielded speakers sitting near the monitor? How about AC/DC power bricks? Outlet strip? Any other possible source of electromagnetic interference nearby? Something with a motor in it? By near I mean within a foot or 2....

"new" as in refurbed? you get what you payed for...........someone returned them for a reason. Did you guys stick magnets too close to your monitor? maybe there is another device nearby giving off interference?

I've owned 2 Sony Trinitrons in the last 4 years (G400 and CPD-ES200) and neither have exhibited any problems at all.

No, not refurbs. Brand new.

Nothing near the monitors, but there ARE powerstrips\outlets near where the cord goes.

nah, that wouldn't cause it. Unless they are within a foot or so of the body of the monitor...
