Tint

I know my posts here are of the pet-peeve variety sometimes (loud vehicles), and I was in a tunnel in the day time and a car with very dark windows changed lanes and had clearly not seen me. I avoided the accident, and tint all around used to be illegal here, but now I'd say it's about 50/50.

It's just a fact that sight is limited through dark windows especially in low light situations. Cars have so many sensors and assists that I guess it might not matter anymore, in which case, if I stepped on any tinted toes with this, I'm sorry, I'm clumsy.

I'd never want a vehicle that had control over itself so much that my driving inputs didn't override any warning system. It has to be passive and when I'm going to change lanes I may not have enough of a gap to wait around for my vehicle to give me permission if there's traffic, it would cry wolf because it's set up conservatively and I'd be ignoring it frequently.

Point is, it matters. Until vehicles have camera systems that allow deleting windows completely, they are the most important tool to navigate.

My only gripe about dark tint is that when following a tinted vehicle I can't look through it to see what the traffic ahead is doing. With clear glass, I used to be able to do that.

Tint laws changed here last year and now my FR-S isn't technically legal, but the only tint is on the back window and quarter glass. It's really dark; like you almost can't see in at all. Whoever did the tint did a phenomenal job though so I'm kind of reluctant to remove it.

Since this was originally a Florida car, I had to have the dealer remove the tinting from the door glasses.
