We tried out a set of wedges and feathers on our granite. It sort of worked. The test piece was a bit weathered so not the best break. Drilling the holes took a lot longer than splitting the rock. The process: drill holes, set feathers in holes followed by wedges. Lightly tap the wedges, one then the other, until the rock splits. The company that makes the wedges and feathers has been making them since 1890.
