Tinfoil Time? Do you think we already have Osama?

From Above Top Secret:
"Oh yeah, what ever happened to Osama Bin Laden? Remember Him? He is the mastermind behind the 9-11 attacks, right? My sources still lead me to believe he was captured January 16, 2004 in Iran. This is another option for GW. The Spring offensive should be starting pretty soon. As many of us have claimed, what more of a perfect political trophy."

Now I don't really believe this at all. How many of you believe that we already have bin Laden?

Haliburton is over there drilling for oil & gas in that so called Axis-of-Evil of nation, maybe a few hundred billion dollar investment would persuade the Iranians to turn him over.

<tinfoil hat off> I don't think he's been captured

We could probably confirm one way or the other by testing the White House for signs of a recent mass ejaculation.

A friend of mine keeps saying we don't have him but that Bush knows where he is and plans on parading him to the public right before the election.

I think it's preposterous and capturing Osama won't do much. Although, I'd love to see him squirm on the witness stand...provided he made it that far alive.

If Bush said under oath that he has no clue where Osama is, I'd believe him but everyone knows how hard it is to get the truth out of this administration. I think Bush knows where Osama is and will pull him out at the most convenient time. But thats just me

edit: grammar

No, I do not think GWB has bin Laden. I am not ready to even consider that GWB could be that corrupt...

I totally agree with your friend on that one, I believe that the month before the elections the Bush administration will say that they got Osama. Then Bush wins the election because of Osama, after that he will launch another war.

Sounds a little too fantastic a story to believe really, although if we do come up with Osama in October, the timing would be a bit suspicious.

I think it would be an impossible secret to keep. It would come out somewhere, a government leak, or from AQ themselves.

Right now, for me this falls into the "The US did not go to the moon" type of thinking category. But I do wonder how the US public would react if bin Laden turns up in October...

Will it be coincidence when he is captured just before the election or simply a pleasant surprise?

In the vein of some posters in this thread.

Perhaps Kerry will nominate him for his running mate.

It makes as much sense as most of the other spew in this thread.

The US would start wrapping itself in a flag again and treating Bush like Jebus himself just like after 9-11

If we caught him now, the high polls for Bush wouldn't last long enough. Just look at the polls after Sadaam was captured. It didn't take long before americans remembered what an idiot Bush is

And Kerry would probably still win under the two major theories that would apply, the lesser of two evils, or the devil you know vs the real one.

No we don't have him locked up. If I dont see how we are unable to stop 11 hi-jackers from taking over planes but we are able to find 1 person in a 800 Sq Km area of freezing mountains and burning deserts.

If you seriously think the government is capable of keeping something like that a secret you need to have your head examined. That operation would take at the very least dozens, probably hundreds, of soldiers, and you'd never be able to keep them all quiet.
