Timing on new laptop/tablet

[ignore]So I gave my sister my late-2010 MBP since she didn't have a personal computer and had been wanting it for a while. All of my work is travel-based so having a good laptop is important...but I didn't work for a few weeks so it wasn't a big deal. Now things will start getting busy again and I'm wondering:[/ignore]

What's the time frame on Haswell-based laptops? I had an MBP but wouldn't mind going back to Windows - the Samsung and ASUS laptops look good too. Oooooor, will Surface Pro be good enough (I hate buying first-gen products) to act as laptop and tablet?

What your needs are will determine if the Surface Pro is good enough though I would at least wait for full reviews to be out. The rumoured 4ish battery life sounds too low for a tablet IMO and its ultrabook specs might be too slow depending on your workload.

Haswell notebooks should start coming out Juneish but specific models (ULV, i3, etc) may take longer.

My needs are pretty basic, to be honest with you. That said, being able to play the average game would be great (say, Steam platformers and DotA 2).

That battery life would kinda suck...and I have a Touchpad but don't know if I'd use a tablet more if it were nicer. Juneish is pretty damn far away, ugh.
