Getting ready to replace the timing belt on my 87 Tercel, so I'm starting to collect the necessary parts.

Anyone have a recommendation for timing belt brand?

The dayco one Autozone has for $22 is about $8 at rock auto, though there are tons of other options on rock auto. Some are for different applications but some appear to be better quality ones?

You want the Timing Belt Component Kit. That has the belt and all the other timing parts you need.

I have not found that big a differance between brands, many times they use the same parts just differant box.

Many people change other parts while they're at it...water pump, tensioner, etc...newer belts are made of Kevlar...ask for that...they last longer.
