Anybody remember it?

Back in the late 70s when I was a wee runt, my parents took us camping in our PopUp camper to Lake George. While there, we went to this really unique small amusement park in Bolton Landing called TIMETOWN. I remember it to this day because the spaceship attraction was like walking through an episode of Star Trek (and to a 7-8 year old - that is COOL!) Sadly, the park closed sometime in the early 80s and all attempts to find SOME shred of its existance on the internet have failed me..........until now!

I found this website last night:

REMEMBERING TIMETOWN

Check it out! Have any of you ATOTers (especially the NY or eastern Canada gang) been there in the past? I'd love to hear your memories (when viewing some of the pics at that website, I was a little kid again!)

Also, post any memories from amusement parks or locations you have visited or camped at that are "gone but not forgotten"

they may even be listed here:
Defunct Amusement Parks

I lived close to that area until I was 14, but I don't recall ever going there. Did you guys ever camp at a place called Trail's End?

It is posible - to teel the truth i don't remember the name of the campground we stayed at. I only remembered Timetown because of the effect the spaceship attraction had on me as a kid. It took LOTS of searching to figure out what that memory was from.

Have any links or pics of Trail's End? that would help.

I do remember Gaslight Village..........

Wow, I actually found it. It would have been about 2 hours from TimeTown by viewing the map on that website. I only asked because you guys obviously camped and Trail's End, where I lived my childhood life, had a lot of summer campers come in. It was a mixed permanent and temp living campground area - really unique and great place to live.

Hey CPA - that may have been our campground. It's hard to tell from the pictures (that and the fact we are talking it was close to 30 years ago that I was there as a child). I do remember fishing with my father in place like the pictures show.

30 years ago..........DANG I feel old ;)
