Big news here people. If the movie is as good as the book, it will be a big hit

im leery of another MC-based movie.
but...he writes good page-turners and Time is always interesting.

Connie Willis' Doomsday Book is the same kind of story, if you guys are interested.

Cool :) That's one of the most entertaining books I've read in a while. I remember thinking "dayum, this would make a great script for a movie!" when reading it......

i feel that way about pretty much all his books. they all, especially lately, seem to be written as movies.

I hear you. I have yet to see an Crichton book turned movie that was any good. His stuff always gets trashed when translated into movie form. Even Sean Connery in Rising Sun couldn't save that pile of crap, although the book was excellent as always....

If I remember correctly, the movie version of Jurassic Park differed significantly from the book. However, it was still awesome if you ask me.

"Trivia for Timeline (2003)
Jerry Goldsmith had scored and recorded the music for the movie in late December 2002. When the film had to be reedited, it was discovered that Goldsmith's score no longer fit, and needed to be redone from scratch. Goldsmith was fully booked and unavailable, so 'Brian Tyler' was given the chance to do the music for the movie."

I remember reading this book a long time ago. Hopefully the movie will be as entertaining as the book was.

I liked a couple parts of it but the other parts I didn't really enjoy. Either way I want to see the movie
