"timeline" ad coming out of speakers

lately i've been hearing the ad for the movie "timeline" coming out of my speakers even when i dont have any programs running (the usual programs, IE, winamp, WMP). anyone else experience this?
 
deadaim does NOT help, surprisingly. seen it on other forums, where even folks with deadaim get the sound, but not the picture ad of course. i've never gotten the sound ads, no idea why.
 
Happened to me. DeadAIM removes the graphical advertisement, but the sound still comes through. Took me a few times to realize what the funk was going on.

Freaking aim, I knew this would happen eventually. They make more $ with sound and as you can tell, aim is very popular (requring more $ to maintain). Eventually it will get worse 🙁

Maybe rolling back to an older version would be benficial?
 
ah..thanks for letting me know the source. no way would i have known it was aim since there was no picture ad. it was freaking my friend out, she says.
 
It only happens with your buddy list is showing. If you're like me and you have your buddy list setup to minimize to the taskbar tray only, you can hit the X and it will hide your buddy list and end the ad. ^#$*%&^$%* AOL!!!
