Time Warner dropping plan for metered Internet service.

I figure this is a topic of interest to PC gamers. Time Warner finally felt the backlash to its plans and caved in.

That's good news to most of the people on this forum as we likely use much more bandwidth than other users do. We benefit a lot as consumers from the failure of internet companies to enact accurate price discrimination.

It's also good news from the POV of internet distribution based services like Netflix. A lot of companies are banking that the new standard medium will simply be direct digital download in the future and metered billing would crimp those plans somewhat.
