Time Warner Raises Rates
Rochester, NY (11/19/03) - Time Warner Cable Television has announced that it is raising its rates for standard service.
Starting January 1, 2004, rates for standard service will go from $46-$75 to $48-$95 a month. Time Warner attributes the increase on the rising costs for sports channels, which went up 26 percent last year.
Another solution to rate increases would be to move sports stations to a different subscriber level, so that only those who want the sports service need to pay for it.
The company said that the rate increase is less than last year's. The cost of digital cable and Roadrunner Internet access will not go up.
I was about to get cable with the current deal they are having but have now decided on a dish whish is almost 50% less than cable. Up yours Time Warner.
The next thing that will go is my cable internet. DSL speeds are now equalling cable speeds at 3 Mbps and its only $29.99 a month.
