While my A64 3200 and X800XL served me well for the last two years, I started to make a list of games I want to play without resorting to minimal graphics. That list is now something like 13 or 14 games long.
I just want to get as much gaming performance as possible without reaching too high on the price ladder. Thanks for that 8800GT, nVidia!
Here's the plan so far:
E6550 - I would prefer an E6420 for obvious reasons but cannot find one outside of Newegg. I'm in Canada btw.
8800GT - BFG has a 650Mhz version, eVGA a 675 although stock is somewhat hit and miss.
2GB OCZ Gold DDR2-800 - What I am curious about is whether I would run into any trouble with the system not POSTing at stock VDIMM with these chips. I don't have any other DDR2 to rescue myself with.
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L - Criticism / advice appreciated here.
Scythe Ninja RevB + Yate Loon 120mm - Any problems fitting? I'm open to other coolers, mostly I want something that fits and cools better than the Intel stock HSF.
Rest of system - Migrate from current box. The important point is that I've got a 500W Enermax powering my system right now, inside an Antec Sonata.
